WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON MOVE TO FOREST LODGE: INSIDE THEIR NEW LIFE IN WINDSOR

After months of quiet preparation, the Prince and Princess of Wales have begun a new chapter at Forest Lodge, the residence that symbolizes their renewal after the most challenging years spent at Adelaide Cottage.

WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON MOVE TO FOREST LODGE: INSIDE THEIR NEW LIFE IN WINDSOR

Prince William and Kate Middleton have completed their move to Forest Lodge, a Georgian-style mansion located within Windsor Great Park, in what British media describe as the end of one of the most difficult periods for the royal couple. The family has left behind Adelaide Cottage, their home since 2022, which, according to close sources, the heir to the throne considered “cursed.” Originally planned for Christmas, the move was brought forward thanks to the quick completion of renovations and enhanced security measures. Forest Lodge with eight bedrooms and six bathrooms offers more privacy and space for their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, and is set to become their permanent home.

To thank the builders and staff involved in the move, the couple hosted a small reception at the York Club, a private pub within the Crown Estate. “They simply wanted to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped,” a source told the Daily Mail. British outlets report that William and Kate personally covered the renovation and relocation costs.

The new residence is located just two kilometers from Royal Lodge, where Prince Andrew William’s uncle still lives after being stripped of his royal titles and privileges by King Charles III due to his involvement in the late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal.

The move also represents the couple’s effort to leave behind a difficult chapter. During their time at Adelaide Cottage, the family endured challenging moments, including the cancer diagnoses of both the King and the Princess of Wales. In January 2025, Kate announced that her cancer was in remission.

Designed by architect Thomas Sandby and acquired by the Crown in 1892, Forest Lodge combines privacy and elegance. Set in a secluded area within the park, it allows the children to enjoy vast natural spaces while providing the level of security the family sought.

Currently on an official trip to Brazil for the Earthshot Prize awards, Prince William is eager to begin this new phase. According to royal sources, he intends to remain at Forest Lodge even after ascending the throne which would make him the first British monarch to live outside a palace or castle.
